Bio

Ceciley was born in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, in Canada; and raised in Toronto, Ohio and Michigan. She made her professional debut as an actor at the age of 16, in Michigan, as Cecile in Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Actor's Theatre), while attending high school and Kendall College of Art simultaneously. In the following year Jenkins attended Michigan State University, and appeared as the lead in her first film, Seduction Story (Bravo Network).

With the confidence that film experience imbued her with, she decided to scrap her intensive studies at the Honors College for Political Science that year, and moved to Toronto, where she hoped to get her start by playing important roles in classical theatre. She certainly got her wish. There she appeared in over a dozen plays, playing Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Repercussion Nat. Tour), Eileen in the acclaimed Canadian Premiere of the farce Moon Over Buffalo (Theatre Aquarius), Ophelia in a Hamlet so successful it was remounted twice (Tempest Theatre), Guildenstern in a wildly double cast Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Alumnae Th.), Felicity in The Real Inspector Hound (Circle Th.), and the title character in Miss Julie (Calvin Th.). Ceciley also worked for Performers for Literacy at this time, teaching Shakespeare to Toronto high school students.

Film and television work in Toronto included roles on The Color of Friendship (Disney MOW), Psi Factor (CBS/CTV), The Enduring Enigma of Susanna Moodie (Upper Cda. Pics, *Gemini Award Nominee), and Conspiracy Guy (Space TV Special/Denis Mcgrath).

Three years ago, after playing Juliet in a cold-ass winter tour of Canada, Ceciley decided to move to LA to continue her career in more temperate climes. Since moving to Los Angeles, Ceciley Jenkins joined Tim Robbins' prestigious theatre company, The Actor's Gang, and captivated audiences as Claire in New Line's film Knockaround Guys (prod. Lawrence Bender, dir. Brian Koppelman and David Levien). Next up she has a haunting and memorable part in the indie film "Untitled" (Dir.John Dowdle,Prod.Drew Dowdle, EProd. Steve Chbosky), and she has completed her first screenplay "Surfacing". During this time she has also been studying diligently with illustrious acting teachers including: Jeffrey Marcus, Caryn West & Jessica Kubzansky and Kate McGregor Stewart. She is currently working on producing a play with her favorite leading man, Daniel Shore.

L.A. theatre work includes appearances at The Actors' Gang as Theo in "Holiday on the Sea" , at Sacred Fools in a multitude of roles in both "Slow & Tight" and "Fast & Loose", and in the "Triple Crown" play "Silencer". Highlights include playing an insane southern cheerleader, a nervous silent film-style herione, a slutty potty-mouthed angel from Queens, and a drunk sorority girl who lives with a Dominatrix. She loves appearing in the plays of Padraic Duffy. She was one of the highlights, with her "saucy comic touch and very real sense of vulnerability" in three installments of the Twenty Something Showcase. She has also appeared at Write Act in Driving Rain, directed by Wendy Gough; and in Cymbeline, directed by Matthew Godfrey.
